I've spent more than twenty years learning what actually helps people grow — as an individual contributor, a technical lead, a trusted consultant, and now a team leader and mentor. LeVar Coaching is where I put all of it to work for you. None of it came from a classroom — all of it came with something on the line.

Here's the part of my story most bios would bury: I never went to college. No degree, no campus pipeline, no network to lean on, no safety net. I started my career in a central office in Washington, D.C., in the middle of the dot-com boom — and made plenty of mistakes there, every one a lesson no classroom could have taught me. Over time I worked my way into mobile switching, then networking, then consulting — always learning in the moment, on live systems, with real money and real people counting on me to get it right.
That was just the systems of the job but there were also politics!
It was an unforgiving classroom, and the best one I could have asked for. I helped build federal infrastructure millions of people rely on, stood up innovation centers for a national wireless carrier against immovable launch dates, and spent more than a decade inside one of the world's largest technology companies, providing solutions customers bet real budgets on. Lessons learned with that much on the line are lessons that hold.
Every transition — technician to engineer, engineer to consultant, consultant to Sales Engineer , Sales Engineer to leader — began the same way: a new room, higher impact, no script. What carried me wasn't a credential. It was a mindset: stay curious, respect the people closest to the work, and grow in public, even when it's uncomfortable.
My belief is simple: when people thrive, business responds. I didn't read that in a book — I lived it, from every vantage point along the way. That's why I coach!
No degree. No script. Four eras of growth — every lesson learned in motion
The kind of results that come from taking people — not just targets — seriously.
Every stage taught me something I now use to help you grow.
Did the work, earned trust, and learned the unwritten rules of corporate life the hard way. This is where I first saw how much natural talent goes unseen.
Stepped up to guide the work and the people around it — learning that influence isn't about title, it's about how you show up for others.
Advised on high-stake engagements — a $2.4B revenue portfolio led to 104% of target, $16.6M in new revenue, and ~30% YoY growth sustained over seven years.
Coaching and mentoring the next generation — building a coaching practice around the truth I keep coming back to: when people thrive, business responds!
In physics, power is work divided by time — P = W/t. Somewhere along the way, leadership borrowed that math: extract more work in less time and call it power. I've worked under that formula. I've watched it fail the very people it leans on.
Leading my own team taught me the inversion. When I invested real, intentional time in my people, I never had to push for the work — trust arrived first, and the work rose organically behind it. That's now the hallmark of how I coach: a title only grants authority. Power is earned at your people's side — and the work is its derivative, not its price.
The career wasn't a straight line. That's exactly why it's useful to you.
Overlooked, over-stretched, unsure of the rules — I remember all of it. That memory keeps my coaching honest and grounded in real experience, not slogans.
Years of building outcomes taught me that people grow fastest when they lean into what they're already good at. We start with your strengths, not your gaps.
Consulting across organizations taught me to see the person inside the role. I coach the individual in front of me — no templates, no one-size-fits-all.
Because I've carried real numbers, I know the difference between a quick win and lasting change. My work is aimed at the change that holds.
